quote of the day
An original is a creation motivated by desire. Any reproduction of an originals motivated be necessity. It is marvelous that we are the only species that creates gratuitous forms. To create is divine, to reproduce is human.

side note. sorry mau, and to the few few random people and spammers, for the unreplied notes and comments. My fickle mood does not help in keeping any online conversations.

as for how popular writers here actually do get popular here, I have no theories to offer to overcome what I've just said. looks like you'll have to find that on your own b^^d
btw, I've almost lost all interest in poemhunter. do you still maintain yours? ha, I remember you said you went there because dA commentators were ' plasticky.' what kind of attention are you going for, anyway?
one last thing [link] what do you think?
Also, there is a second face to my problem. I no longer feel satisfied and no longer sees the path to whatever it was I was writing. The pleasure I get from the novelty of it all from (creating) my own style is gone. And that is why I decided to go back to basics (reproduction). hehe. not really a problem, just an ill-mannered play of words.
I see myself in his work, and I don't like it, from the forced rhymes to the 'odd' words. And I'm not even sure if I'm criticizing his work, or my work.

Greater disgrace for a poet than to
Extend his meaning beyond anything
That he ever could possibly say?

mmmm...to be honest today is a pretty good day for me to be talking about this, cuz I think I know what you mean, about losing that satisfaction in your work...that is, if I ever was satisfied with my fiction work. I'm reading Gabriel Garcia Marquez's memoir Living to Tell the Tale [link] and I am in awe of what he's capable of, even as translated. with that said, I wish you the best
